The Las Vegas Storm is excited to announce our Spring Development Program. This program is a 6-week program designed to provide an opportunity for players to continue their development, prepare for next season, as well as give them a look at what it takes to succeed at the travel level. It will consist of 2 on-ice sessions per week (excluding Mite) with our Storm coaching staff, and 1 off-ice session per week with our Head of Player Strength and Conditioning, PJ Musico. Included in the program is a 6-week supplementary video course focusing on Hockey IQ and the concepts that they will be learning that week. Goalies will be given 30 minutes a week of goalie specific training during their first practice each week as well as personalized feedback from our Storm goalie coaches.
The on-ice sessions will be one hour long, age specific and be held during the week. Off-ice will be a one-hour strength and conditioning session taking place on Saturdays to further develop strength, speed, and power required specifically for hockey players. Each week the first session will be focused on skill development, where half of the session will be power skating, and the other half will be fundamental skills (shooting, puck control, etc.). The second skate will be a more learning-intensive session, where kids will learn concepts and positioning that will prepare them to play at the level that they will be trying out for, for the next travel season.
Below you will find the full curriculum by age level. Specific drills and concepts will be tailored to each age and skill level specifically. This program will begin the week of April 12, 2021 and conclude the week of May 22, 2021. The cost for this program is $349 per player and includes the 2 weekly on-ice sessions 1 weekly off-ice session and a jersey. For the Mite players the cost is $249 and includes 1 weekly ice session, 1 weekly off-ice session and a jersey. To register please go to lvstorm.net and complete the online registration form
